Microbiologist Jobs in New York

A Microbiologist in the biotechnology industry conducts research on microorganisms, studying their characteristics and behaviors. They utilize tools such as bio-reactors and microscopes to observe microbial interactions and growth patterns, which they then analyze and interpret to support biotechnology development. Their findings contribute to the advancement of various biotechnological applications including pharmaceuticals, food production, biofuels, and waste treatment. They also ensure the sterility of biotechnological products, monitor microbial contamination in the process, and develop strategies to mitigate any microbial risks.

They should be familiar with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also key.
