Medical Laboratory Technician Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our diagnostic team. In this role, you will perform essential laboratory tests that support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Youll work in a fast-paced environment alongside pathologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and precise test results that directly impact patient care.
Medical Laboratory Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing on blood, body fluids, and other specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Accurately record and report test results within established turnaround times.
- Follow strict protocols for quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance (CLIA, OSHA, CAP, etc.).
- Collect and prepare specimens while ensuring proper identification and handling procedures.
- Communicate critical results to appropriate healthcare providers.
- Assist with inventory management and maintain a clean, organized laboratory workspace.
Medical Laboratory Technician Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program.
- Certification as an MLT (ASCP or equivalent) required or eligibility to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures accurately.
- Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and information systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
