The Research Assistant III in the Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center will support a research laboratory investigating the alteration of the glial scar and pyramidal neurons undergoing the reprogramming process for optimization to treat spinal cord injury. This position will be responsible for conducting experiments in animal models of spinal cord injury utilizing AI- based video kinematic analysis, histology, and microscopy techniques. Basic skills in animal surgery, animal handling and care are highly recommended. This is a grant funded position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct moderately complex laboratory research and experiments.
Maintain records on tests and experiments performed and report findings to the supervisor.
Synthesize research findings and prepare statistical summaries.
Develop AI-based video kinematic analysis system.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with AI-based video kinematic analysis, basic animal surgery skills, histology, and microscopy.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
